Who can play?

What is the minimum age to be to play euromillions? Any person 18 or over who stays in one of the participating countries. The minimum age differs in some countries for example in the UK the minimum age is 16 years.

The EuroMillions Game have established a Trust account that is used for the settlement of all amounts due and for holding amounts for future prizes. This trust arrangement protects the participating lotteries between them from a default from one of the national companies and ultimately the players interests.

EuroMillions has Super and Event draws that are special draws that are daws when the jackpot is set to a guaranteed amount usually 100 Million to 130 Million Euros regardless of the expected Jackpot.

What is the difference between Super and Event draws?

If the Super Draw jackpot is not won it will roll over to the next drawing, but an Event Draw jackpot will be split between the winners in the next lower tier. On Tuesday 10 May 2011 the first Super Daw took place, to introduce the second weekly draw and changes to the game format. There has been 10 Super Draws to date, but no Event Draw yet.

The structure of the draw was changes on Tuesday 10 May 2001. The lucky star was usually drawn from a pool of 9 numbers and now it’s being drawn from 11 numbers.  The odds of winning an prize at all are 1 in 13.

Are winnings on EuroMillions taxed?

The majority of participating countries do not tax winnings but there are 3 exceptions, spain, Portugal and Switzerland. The tax liability will depend on the regulations of the country you live in and personal circumstances.

But paying a large amount of tax on a winning lottery ticket is not all that bad when you think about it! Just make sure you check your euro lotto results  after buying your ticket!

Here are some general rules about EuroMillions:

• Players must choose 5 main numbers between 1 and 50, and then two additional lucky star numbers between 1 and 12.
• Playes has to be 18 or older, except players in the UK who must be 16 or older.
• Prizes can only be claimed in the country where the ticket was bought originally.
• You have to claim your prize within a certain time period before it expires.
• If no one wins the jackpot it will roll over and be added to the amount for the next draw, up to a jackpot cap of €190 Million.
